Imperial Eisenkrieg

A century ago, from the far lands beyond Leviathan’s Reach, came black ships of steel and choking mist to the shores of Lanka. They spoke a foreign tongue and held ink-bound promises on paper as sacred. Their true attention, though, was conquest; for as soon as they were given supplies, gifts, and safe harbor, more of their ships arrived—and this time, their guns thundered as they laid waste to the very hosts who had provided them succor. They did not care for the people of this land, only the land itself and its resources.

Imperial Eisenkrieg, also known as the “Shakta Yoni [The Iron Empire],” is a foreign human hegemony that has forcibly crowned itself one of Lanka’s dominant powers. While comprising mainly of humans, the faction is most noted for its use of bio-titans known as Armagators. Since first making landfall, the empire has been constantly waging a war of conquest. Most indigenous forces prove to be no match for Imperial discipline, industry, and gunpowder. Their whole society is highly regimented with a militaristic culture and a rigid hierarchy – at the top of which sits the Imperatorführer.

However, the role isn’t dynastic. Rather, any general with enough clout can stake their claim on the throne. As a result, seldom does a ruler die of old age, instead becoming a victim of assassination or a bloody coup d’état. Yet, regardless of who is at the helm, the imperial machines march on, forever at war and forever attempting to expand and subjugate.

At present, the empire’s border has somewhat stagnated. The ashen wastes to the East, where the Asura reside, remain hostile to any settlement. To the North lies Kshetra, a vast and ancient human realm, as much at war with itself as with outsiders. A tempting target, but one capable of fielding more manpower than the empire has ammunition. Finally, to the South, Ananta appears a far too advanced power to contest with. However, even against it, a war may come soon.
